Bookings must be made during the month of May 2026.

🦷   There are some aspects of your pet’s dental health that cannot be assessed whilst your pet is conscious,

we do however, have a full range of facilities at our surgeries to detect any abnormalities which may not visible to the human eye. Our facilities include digital X-ray machines, allowing us to provide fast, accurate results whilst your pet is under anaesthetic.

Dental X-rays allow our team a full view of your pets oral health, paying particular attention to what is happening below the gum line (dotted line running left to right on the image). X-rays can reveal abnormalities, jaw fractures and the entire health of your pets teeth including surrounding attachments and bone.

🦷  Why Pet Dental Health Matters

Bad breath, red, bleeding gums and plaque will unfortunately get worse over time, often becoming very uncomfortable if left untreated.

Dental disease doesn’t just affect your pet’s mouth—it can impact their health, well being and lifespan! Untreated infection can result in discharge of debris, bacteria and toxins into your pets blood stream, which can affect their heart, kidneys, lungs and liver.

Catching dental problems early can spare your pet a lot of pain—and prevent more serious health issues. Here are the most common signs to watch for:

🦷  Mouth-related signs

  • Bad breath (often one of the first clues of periodontal disease)
  • Yellow or brown tartar buildup on teeth
  • Red, swollen, or bleeding gums
  • Loose or missing teeth
  • Drooling more than usual (sometimes with blood)

🦷  Eating and behavior changes

  • Difficulty chewing or dropping food
  • Eating on one side of the mouth
  • Loss of appetite or weight loss
  • Reluctance to chew toys or hard food
  • Pawing at the mouth or face

🦷  Facial or general symptoms

  • Swelling around the face or jaw
  • Discharge from the nose or eyes (can happen with advanced infection)
  • Lethargy or irritability due to pain

🦷  A clean mouth means a happier, healthier life for your pet.
