High Blood Pressure - Could your cat be suffering?

Cats suffer from many of the same health conditions that we do. One of those is high blood pressure - also know as hypertension.

Remember, old age in itself is not a disease, click on the picture below to understand more about Hypertension and what high blood pressure means for your cat.

High blood pressure otherwise know as Hypertension is most commonly seen in senior cats. The likelihood of hypertension developing increases with age. Some cats are more prone to high blood pressure, such as cats with chronic kidney disease and / or hyperthyroidism. Sadly, it often shows no visible signs, meaning it can go undetected for a long time.

Many cat owners don't realise that anything is wrong until their cat suddenly shows changes in behaviour, appetite, or thirst. If symptoms are left untreated, high blood pressure can cause damage to your pets eyes, kidneys, heart and brain. Regular health examinations allow our team to support you and your pets health. Early diagnosis and treatment can help protect your cat's quality of life.

Blood pressure checks can be performed during a consultation with one of our vets, at one of our three independent practices -

Ealing, Hounslow and Chiswick.

Our team, have been treating pets from all over West London since 1950 and we are here to support you and your cat. If your golden oldie hasn't had a health check in a while, or perhaps you've noticed some of the signs above, contact our friendly team today to arrange an appointment for your feline friend today.
