About Us

I grew up in James Herriot country in rural Yorkshire, and was inspired by reading his veterinary novels as a young child. Growing up with dogs, cats and horses sparked my real passion for veterinary medicine, which I was determined to pursue from a young age.

My goal with every patient visit is to provide a knowledgeable, friendly and trustworthy service, and to ensure that every pet gets the caring treatment (and treats where appropriate !) they deserve.

I am married to Jane, and my family includes two children and two cats. Louis, a loyal and loveable companion and Mitten, a long haired, later addition to the family, who was rescued from a dustbin in Brentford. Mitten has a feisty temperament hidden beneath her beauty, and she keeps both my family and the surgery staff on their toes when she comes to stay!

After graduating from Cambridge University in 1991 and spending two years at a mixed animal practice (seeing dogs and cats, cows, horses, goats, deer and even the occasional Zebra from the travelling circus!) in Cambridgeshire, I decided to specialise in small animal practice (dogs, cats and family pets) where I felt I could give the best care, joining Young Veterinary Partnership in 1993. I am a partner in the practice.

I have a dedicated interest in all aspects of surgery, including bone and joint surgery (orthopaedics) and regularly perform more complex surgeries such as TTA cruciate (knee) surgeries.

Fulvia graduated from University of Teramo in Italy. Following graduation Fulvia has worked in specialist veterinary referral centres in Rome, before relocating to the UK. Fulvia has a particular interest in internal medicine, especially gastroenterology and endoscopy, and emergency medicine. Fulvia works at our Hounslow surgery.

Nicky graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2012 and worked for 5 years in Australia before relocating to the UK. She has worked all over the UK, from Newcastle to Cornwall, before finally settling in London. She has always had a passion for animals and attempted to save every helpless or injured animal that came her way as a child. It seemed inevitable that she would end up in this profession. That may explain the 5 cats her family own back in Australia, ranging from a three-legged Ragdoll to a Maine Coon with deformed elbows.

Nicky’s passions in the veterinary industry includes Small Animal Surgery, and she hopes to complete an Advanced Certificate in this area to hone her skills. She also loves facilitating the bond between owner and pet, and takes great satisfaction in developing good rapport with clients and their furbabies. One of the highlights of her career will always be delivering multiple puppies and kittens by caesarean section when she worked for a busy breeding clinic in Australia. During one such procedure, Nicky was delivering puppies by caesarean and she realised part way through the surgery that she had, in fact, delivered the mother by caesarean a few years earlier – that was magical.

I am a dedicated veterinarian who graduated from Madrid in 2016. Throughout my academic journey, I realised that surgery was my true calling and I am currently in my final stages of completing a comprehensive surgical certificate program. This additional qualification allows me to bring an advanced level of expertise to the operating room.

Outside of work, I enjoy scuba diving and making culinary creations in the kitchen!

Throughout my years of study and veterinary medicine I have experienced many unforgettable moments including being bitten by a seal, peed on by a lion and being headbutted by a goat – reminding me of the unpredictability and wonder of the animal kingdom!

Following my graduation from the Royal Veterinary College in 2020, I went on to work at a small animal practice in East Sussex. Now, after relocating to West London, I have found myself at Young’s!

Growing up I had a variety of pets, from small mammals to horses! From a young age I had my sights set on becoming a vet, after experiencing my own pets requiring various veterinary treatment and feeling in awe of the vets providing their care.

I am enjoying all aspects of general practice currently, and particularly enjoy seeing our feline companions, making their experiences with us as calm & stress-free as possible. In the future I would like to undertake a certificate as to further my knowledge and experience in certain areas of practice, however for now I am enjoying everything equally.

In my free time I enjoy spending time outside, either walking or running, as well as cooking and baking for friends and family!

Since gaining my veterinary qualifications at Milan University, I have worked at various small animal practices around Italy and Milan, in both general practice and specialist centers focusing on soft tissue surgery and oncology. I have a keen interest in soft tissue surgery and I hope to pursue this further during my time in London.

I was inspired to work with animals following five years of volunteering at a local animal shelter whilst at high school, during this time I helped manage a wide range of cases and focused on building relationships with the patients during their stay.

In my spare time I enjoy travelling and hope to combine this with volunteering in future, in a country where strays are less fortunate and veterinary care is limited.

I am returning to Young's after taking a career break to go backpacking around the world, having started here in originally as a new graduate in 2020, before leaving to gain experience as a locum veterinary surgeon around London, before spending 18 months travelling. I have grown up surrounded by cats, dogs, rabbits, lizards and African runner ducks and now have a rescue cat called Tofu, from the Hounslow practice. I am interested in all types of surgery, and am keen to undertake further studies in this area of expertise. Outside of work I enjoy cooking, hiking and travelling.

I have recently graduated from the Royal Veterinary College and am thrilled to have joined the Young Vets team.

I have grown up with all manner of pets, most memorably having hand raised four ducklings who ruled the house – sleeping in the kitchen and swimming in the bath tub!

I am passionate about providing the best care for every patient I meet and building great client relationships with their owners. I am enjoying all aspects of veterinary medicine currently, but am excited to discover my niche areas of interest in the future,

Outside of work I enjoy swimming, cooking and travelling.

I graduated from veterinary school in 2021 and spent two years in small animal practice before completing a rotating internship at the University of Cambridge. After a year of locuming across the UK, I'm excited to be a permanent member of the Young Vets team. I've always had pets at home, growing up with four cats across the years and socialising a hearing dog puppy. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, running, and cycling - and I am currently in training for my first marathon!

I recently graduated from the Royal Veterinary College and, having carried out many weeks of clinical placements at Young’s throughout university, I’m very excited to get started on the team as a vet! I’m grateful to have grown up around animals, whether that was bird watching on the Isle of Mull with my grandma, mucking out at the local yard or bringing home a stray cat, Dolly Parton - all experiences which sparked my desire to work with animals in the future. I enjoy all elements of general practice so far, though I am keen to further develop my skills in imaging, particularly ultrasound. Above all, I love building a rapport with both our clients and their pets so we can work together in delivering the best and most tailored care for them! In my downtime I love baking and staying active with yoga, netball and hiking.

Lynne heads our nursing team at Hounslow and has a wealth of experience. She has two dogs – Flora and Cooper, both Australian Shepherds, as well as 8 cats at last count! In her spare time Lynne can be seen in the show ring with Flora.

Ewa joined the practice in 2007, she qualified in 2009 and is the Head Nurse at our Ealing surgery. Her main interests are anaesthesia and laboratory work. She has a tabby and white cat called Stefan, and a hamster called Ruby. In her spare time, Ewa enjoys travelling with her family.

Sophie qualified in 2014 and enjoys all aspects of the job but has a particular interest in surgical nursing and anaesthesia.

Teresa has recently gained her qualifications following placements at both Hounslow and Ealing surgery, whilst attending the RCV, University of London to gain the title Registered Veterinary Nurse. Teresa has two cats at home, Fat Boi and Minzi – keeping her on her toes, at times! She enjoys all aspects of this varied role, but has a keen interest in post operative care, using her qualifications and knowledge to help support the patient in a smooth and comfortable stay and recovery with us.

Laura also gained her qualification whilst working here at Young Vets. We are incredibly proud of our nurses particularly when they qualify through training with us here in the surgery. Laura has been with us for many years and has previously studied as an animal care assistant. At home Laura has a beautiful, tripod Bengal cat named Nymphadora.

Holly is a qualified veterinary nurse, proudly trained with the continued support of our veterinary team in Ealing. Dogs are her absolute favourite, although she has recently re homed two stray kittens from our Hounslow team!

Roxanne is our receptionist at the Hounslow surgery, she will be a familiar face with many of our clients as she has been a nurse with us for many years. Roxanne has a Pug called Peggy.

Sarah manages our Ealing reception area and is well known to our clients with her many years at Young Veterinary Partnership.

Alice is the evening receptionist at our Hounslow surgery. She has two dogs Dee dee the Chihuahua and Bailey the Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

Emily is the morning receptionist at our Hounslow surgery. She has six dogs keeping her very busy on her days off!

Theresa is the afternoon/evening receptionist at our Hounslow surgery. She has nine cats – Almost all are strays from the practice and Frankie, plus Pancake the stray hamster!

Holly has recently joined our team as receptionist in Brentford. Holly has recently completed a course as Veterinary Assistant and is passionate about animal care. She owns one very naughty cat!

Barbara is one of our evening receptionist's at our Hounslow surgery, and she has a real passion for animals. At home Barbara has three cats - Bluebell, Bonnie and Buddie and a Pomeranian Willow who all enjoy chilling in the sunshine together.

I've always had a deep love for animals and completed a course in Animal Care a few years ago to better understand their health and well being. I'm the proud parent of a Springer Spaniel named Kit and Yumi, a Calico cat.
