Our History

Michael Young MRCVS created the practice and established our first surgery in Ealing in 1950. He continued to build the practice and was joined by his son, Anthony Young in 1977 after he graduated from Glasgow Vet school.

Anthony grew up above the vet surgery in Ealing and spent many hours as a child helping his father in the surgery. He loved the work and realised from an early age that it was going to be his lifelong vocation and passion.  After graduating from Glasgow University, Anthony has spent his career taking the surgery his father established from strength to strength. We now have four surgeries in Ealing, Hounslow, Chiswick and Brentford. Anthony enjoys an established and trusted relationship with all of our clients, especially in Ealing. Anthony has a particular interest in cancer medicine and surgery including chemotherapy, bone surgery (orthopaedics) and spinal surgery.

Anthony is well known for a particular  love of kittens, and will often be found talking to them in the surgery kennels! He has two cats of his own but he is always on the lookout for more!

Matt grew up in James Herriot country in rural  Yorkshire, and was partly inspired  by reading his veterinary novels as a  young child. Growing up with dogs, cats and horses sparked his real passion for veterinary medicine, which he decided to pursue from a young age. After graduating from Cambridge University in 1991 and spending two years at a mixed animal practice in Cambridgeshire,  he decided to specialise in small animal practice and joined Young Veterinary Partnership in 1993. He became a Partner in 1997 and is well known and respected by all our clients, particularly in Hounslow where he heads up the surgery.

Matt has a dedicated interest in all aspects of small animal surgery, including bone and joint surgery (orthopaedics) and regularly performs more complex surgeries such as  TTA cruciate surgeries

Matt has two cats. Louis, a loyal and loveable companion and Mitten, a long haired, later addition to the family, who was rescued from a dustbin in Brentford. It was love at first sight but Mitten has a feisty temperament hidden beneath her beauty and she keeps both Matt’s family and the surgery staff on their toes when she comes to stay!

Thank you so much for being a wonderful surgery – the whole team has been great and are now highly recommended by us!!

Many thanks again,
